Job Objective:

The Sourcing Associate is a newly established performer that works to coordinate the production, purchase, and distribution of assigned lines inventory. This role works to foster relationships with suppliers (both internal and external) to ensure product availability and provide customers with a high level of service.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:ย 

Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.

Coordinate all activities related to procurement of a commodity, beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.

Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity as needed.

Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested commodity. Investigate and/or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.

Advise team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.

Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.

Coordinate appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner.

Input and update information in sourcing databases or systems.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create and manage purchase orders.

Track and monitor order status, ensuring on-time deliveries.

Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience and Education:ย 

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

0-2 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

Competencies:ย 

Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.

Demonstrated ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite products.
