Position SummaryThePurchasing & Sourcing Agentwill support day-to-day purchasing and sourcing activities, including sourcing new products and suppliers, onboarding vendors, requesting, logging and analyzing pricing, negotiating commercial terms, managing purchase orders, and analyzing purchasing data. This role works closely with Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure reliable, cost-effective product availability.This is a full-time, on-site position.Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Supplier Development
  • Proactively source new products and identify new domestic and international suppliers based on customer requirements, market demand, cost targets, and supply needs.
  • Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on pricing, quality, lead times, availability, payment terms, logistics capabilities, and overall reliability.
  • Assist with the new vendor onboarding process, including collecting required documentation, coordinating internal approvals, and ensuring vendors are properly established in the ERP system.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and RFS (Request for Stock) to new and existing suppliers; analyze responses and recommend the best sourcing options based on total value, not price alone.
  • Regularly request and benchmark supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to negotiate improved pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, freight terms, stocking programs, and other commercial conditions.
  • Develop alternative and backup sources for critical products to reduce supply-chain risk and dependency on single suppliers.
  • Partner with Sales to source new or hard-to-find products in response to customer opportunities and inquiries.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of sourcing projects and follow up with suppliers through completion.
Purchasing & Supply Management
  • Create and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery.
  • Align purchasing activity with current and anticipated customer demand and product requirements.
  • Monitor shortages, backorders, lead times, and supply disruptions and take corrective action when needed.
  • Maintain accurate supplier pricing, lead times, and purchasing information in the ERP system.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and monitor performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Analyze purchasing data, pricing trends, supplier performance, inventory, and purchase price variances to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service to resolve purchasing and supply issues.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings and provide updates on sourcing projects, open POs, shortages, and supplier issues.
What We're Looking For
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related field; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP, NetSuite/Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and data-analysis skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and pricing comparisons.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, proactive, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and build strong supplier relationships.
  • Must be able to work on-site.
