Job Summary:

This position is located in West Memphis, TN. As a Checkpoint Inspector, you are responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and controlling access at designated checkpoints to ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards. The role includes verifying credentials, inspecting vehicles, equipment, and materials, accurately documenting inspection results, performing data entry, and interacting professionally with drivers, visitors, and other personnel in a customer-facing environment. All done in accordance with the core values of the company and in a way that he/she achieves the established goals for operational performance and safety while building customer loyalty.


This position is required to be on-site daily in the West Memphis, TN Yard location.



Responsibilities:

  • Follow all checkpoint inspection procedures accurately and consistently
  • Identify all damages and irregularities of equipment entering and exiting yard by performing a physical inspection
  • Document, on handheld computer or desktop, any damage or irregularities with equipment
  • Notify management concerning unusual damages or exceptions
  • Ensure all work is performed safely as per company procedures (including wearing PPE)
  • Assist in training as needed for new checkpoint personnel
  • Ensure information is entered correctly into computer timely and per customer expectations
  • Problem resolution both internally and externally (customers, drivers, co-workers)
  • Perform equipment inventories, physically verifying and system reconciling
  • Ensure accurate turnover (information exchange) between shifts concerning operational changes
  • Keep the work areas, company vehicles and equipment in clean and orderly condition
  • Perform gate security functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
