Job description

Job Title: Power & Recovery Engineer Location: Spring Grove, PA Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite โ€“ onsite

Responsibilities

  • Support the efficient operation, maintenance, housekeeping, and safety of the Mill Power, Recovery, and Recaust Areas.
  • Work within the operations team to improve health and safety performance, environmental compliance, production, quality metrics, and operating costs.
  • Collaborate with teams managing the woodyard and fiberline, utilizing tools like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Collect, analyze, and use operational data to drive process improvements.
  • Evaluate new technological developments and best practices, recommending solutions and supporting capital projects.
  • Participate in committees, task forces, and team initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and improving operational practices and SOPs using sound engineering principles.
  • Manage projects during outages and provide hands-on oversight.
  • Supervise within the Power and Steam, Recovery, and Recaust Departments during vacations and absences.
  • Fulfill weekend call-out responsibilities on a rotational basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts related to engineering design, reliability, and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with scientific and logical reasoning.
  • Proficiency in dealing with formulas, equations, graphs, and abstract variables.
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory agencies, and the community.
  • Experience in writing technical reports and delivering presentations.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office, MS Project; SAP and AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to travel within the facility, using stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms, while maintaining SCBA qualifications.
