Job description

Please Note: Vortex does not sponsor employment Visas. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Being authorized to work in the United States is a precondition of employment. This is not a remote work-from-home opportunity so you must be within 30 minutes of Salina, KS. No relocation costs are being offered.

What You’ll Do
  • Apply sound engineering principles to evaluate designs, identify critical components, and perform calculations that ensure products meet specifications, function properly, and remain reliable.
  • Review valves, accessories, and applications to confirm compatibility and support successful project outcomes.
  • Determine the best technical approach to complete customer orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage and prioritize your workload to support on-time delivery of parts, drawings, and technical information—working with other team members as needed to keep things moving.
  • Use standard drafting practices to create and review clear, accurate engineering documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes when developing and maintaining bills of materials.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, while working closely with sales, manufacturing, and other internal teams.
  • Develop technical documentation such as instruction manuals, technical bulletins, and support materials.
  • Provide technical support through troubleshooting, including remote assistance and occasional on-site visits.
  • Support multiple product lines from a technical standpoint, balancing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. The candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and basic electrical knowledge. Good verbal communication skills, good problem solving ability, ability to interact with people and ability to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.

This position is a full-time, non-remote, position at 40-hours per week.
