Must be ok with it being hot. Must be ok with getting dirty. Must pass a background check.
Waste sorting job (often called a Recycling Facility Sorter or Recycling Center Sorter) involves separating recyclable materials from non-recyclable waste, preparing them for processing, and maintaining safe, efficient operations. Core Responsibilities Sort and segregate materials: Identify and separate recyclables such as paper, plastic, glass, and metals from the waste stream Inspect and remove contaminants: Check items on conveyors, remove non-recyclable or damaged materials Operate equipment: Use and maintain recycling machinery like balers, conveyors, shredders, and sorters, following safety regulations Maintain cleanliness: Keep work areas, conveyors, and storage zones free from hazards and debris Safety compliance: Wear PPE, follow safety protocols, and report equipment malfunctions or hazards (All provided Work Environment Setting: Recycling facilities, material recovery facilities (MRFs), or waste transfer stations Pace: Fast-paced, often with continuous conveyor systems Physical demands: Requires lifting (often up to 40-50 lbs), repetitive motions, and ability to work in all weather conditions Teamwork: Works alongside other sorters, equipment operators, and supervisors; may assist in cleaning or maintenance tasks Skills and Qualifications Technical: Ability to identify and sort various recyclable materials; basic equipment operation Physical: Good stamina, strength, and flexibility for manual labor Safety awareness: Understanding and adherence to workplace safety rules Temp to Hire Pay starts at $12.00 hr. Mon-Fri 7-4 may change to 7-3 THIS JOB STARTS ASAP We will also be hiring for the night shift soon.
