Title: Sort Technician
Location:  Manitowoc, WI

Salary: $20.00 per hour and up based on experience
Schedules available: 2nd Shift Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am

Sort Technician Essential Job Functions:

  • Own your Area: Perform preventative and predictive tasks to ensure safety and efficiency standards are met.

  • Solve Problems: Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust feeding equipment and mechanical components to ensure running efficiencies.  Utilize procedures to operate automated ammunition inspection machines. 

  • Ensure Quality Standards: Perform visual checks on parts while also using precision measuring instruments. 

  • Collaborate: Partner with leads, supervisors and other team members to optimize production workflows and reduce downtime.

  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness in and around your work area to safety rules, to exhibit safe working practices and conditions.

Sort Technician Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing preferred.  Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack preferred. 

  • Intellectual curiosity, passion for machinery, positive attitude, self-discipline, and commitment to Winchester's mission. 

  • Strong mechanical, mathematical, reading comprehension, and troubleshooting skills.  Demonstrated safe work practices, ability to work independently and within a team environment, and strong communication skills.  

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds. 

 
Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
