Job Purpose: Support SMP's internal and external communications initiatives and delivering support across core administrative functions.

What You'll Do: (job responsibilities)

  • Draft, edit and proofread a variety of communications materials including press releases, statements, internal memos, newsletters, boilerplates, bios, scripts and talking points.

  • Support the planning and execution of content initiatives and events, both internally and externally, in collaboration with teams across SMP's global network.

  • Assist with media outreach efforts including pitching to key trade publications and coordinating press release distribution across U.S. and international markets.

  • Help drive internal communications efforts at SMP, including cross-functional efforts across Sony Music Group and other Sony Group entities.

  • Conduct daily media monitoring and distribute timely press coverage summaries to internal stakeholders.

  • Update and maintain the announcements schedule, industry events calendar and various media lists.

  • Assist in ongoing maintenance of the SMP website and company intranet pages.

  • Provide support across core administrative functions including invoice tracking and submission, subscription management, meeting coordination, and more.

Who You Are: (skills and experience required)

  • You have a bachelor's degree (preferably) and ~1-3 years of experience in communications, public relations, public affairs, or music/entertainment publicity.

  • An excellent writer and communicator with the ability to draft impactful messaging for both internal and external audiences.

  • A thoughtful, organized and results-oriented professional who pays close attention to the details.

  • Able to multi-task and stay on top of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • An enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners and senior management.

  • Tech savvy, with experience working in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and use new platforms.

  • Passionate about the music and entertainment business and committed to putting our creators at the forefront of it all.

  • No Travel Required

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events
