Job description

The Global Creative Content (GCC) team is part of Sony Pictures Global marketing organization and they support a wide range of internal and external partners across the studio including Television Distribution, Theatrical Marketing, Home Entertainment, Consumer Platforms, Sony Electronics, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Corporate Communications, and more. GCC is a fast-paced, hands-on creative team built around urgency, proactivity, and servicing a wide range of marketing and production needs. This position reports to the GCC Creative Director and collaborates with other team members across multiple disciplines.
GCC is looking for an outstanding Graphic Designer with entertainment marketing experience. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded designer with a positive attitude who can move quickly from creative problem-solving to high-quality execution. Additionally, a strong sense of proactive task ownership, team oriented collaboration, advanced technical skills, and conceptual ideation are critical.
Responsibilities:
  • Able to create polished graphic designs across several entertainment marketing needs including:
  • Designing premium original key art imagery for TV Series and platform graphics using Adobe Photoshop that shows strong conceptual insights, premium design and typography, and competent image manipulation including compositing and talent retouching.
  • Designing compelling art for sales presentations and pitch materials using Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint with a high level of design, visual storytelling, and elegant typography.
  • Designing brand art for new or existing brands with clear visual themes, logo development, creating color and type families, creating brand documents like toolkits and guide books, brand art ideation with studio IP, and live event design and mockups.
  • Creating production art deliveries for shows that include pitch materials, shot maps, adaptive assets across multiple formats or platforms.
  • Building clean, organized files that can be easily updated, shared, versioned, and delivered by the broader team. Also able to quality check work for design consistency, technical accuracy, spelling, image quality, specs, while ensuring accurate final delivery specs.
  • Being a positive, proactive, and reliable team collaborator with producers, designers, editors, creative leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Displays a passion for entertainment creative content, acquired series, library content, and branding initiatives.

Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of experience as a designer in a high-volume entertainment design, studio, agency, or creative production environment with experience designing platform art, campaign extensions, title treatments, or other entertainment marketing assets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Digital Design, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite with a primary focus on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Photoshop skills must include art generation and image manipulation, photographic compositing, masking, retouching, and color correction.
  • Exceptional experience with presentation design in Microsoft PowerPoint. Familiarity with Keynote, Canva, and Google suite.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to bring design projects from concept through final execution while incorporating feedback constructively and positively.
  • Ability to articulate creative ideas and present work clearly to peers.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills with the desire to learn and assist others on the team.
  • Relevant online portfolio showcasing recent work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.

Preferred:
  • High-resolution retouching experience or a desire to grow key art skills.
  • Ability to use AI tools like Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Gemini, etc. thoughtfully and selectively as part of the creative process.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, a/v editorial, live action, 2D, 3D, motion graphics, or game engine animation workflows.
  • Experience with print production mechanicals.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $72,000 to $90,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
