Job description

Position Title: MDU Growth Lead

Department: MDU Sales

Reports To: MDU Sales Market Manager โ€“ Bay Area

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly + Commission + Benefits)

Pay Scale: $28 - $31 hourly PLUS Commission

Location: Bay Area & San Francisco

Position Summary:

The MDU Growth Lead is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the Bay Area MDU Growth team in support of Sonic's fiber sales initiatives within multi-dwelling unit (MDU) communities. This role combines frontline sales leadership with hands-on field execution, including canvassing, side-by-side selling, sales coaching, and performance accountability.

The ideal candidate is a motivated field leader who can inspire and develop team members while driving consistent sales results. This individual will support daily sales execution, provide real-time coaching and feedback, identify growth opportunities, and communicate actionable insights and reporting to the MDU Sales Market Manager.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Evening and weekend availability required based on business needs and the team's canvassing schedule

Travel:
This position requires regular travel throughout the Bay Area.

Requirements Include:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Bay Area MDU Growth team in achieving individual and team sales goals
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and field development for team members
  • Conduct side-by-side selling and in-field observations to improve sales effectiveness and customer engagement
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Support onboarding and training efforts for new hires and developing representatives

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Aptitudes:

  • Coach, motivate, and develop MDU Growth Representatives to maximize sales performance and career growth
  • Conduct regular field observations, ride-alongs, and side-by-side selling sessions
  • Drive performance accountability through goal setting, coaching, and follow-up
  • Monitor individual and team sales metrics, productivity, and daily activity levels
  • Provide timely reporting, sales updates, and field insights to the MDU Sales Market Manager
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, territory optimization, and sales growth
  • Assist with escalations, account concerns, and field-related issues as needed
  • Ensure team adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and brand standards
  • Represent Sonic professionally and positively within the communities we serve

Work Environment:

This role primarily operates outdoors in residential MDU communities throughout the Bay Area. Team members should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and walking for extended periods while canvassing.
