Job Summary
The Solutions Engineer, Life Sciences is responsible for supporting the sales and account management teams during the Surescripts sales process and must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to business, clinical and technical stakeholders. The Solutions Engineer will maintain a deep understanding of product capabilities, limitations, inter-dependencies, market-positioning and use case definitions in order to provide subject matter expertise across the Surescripts portfolio.
This role delivers product specific overviews, as well as solution set design and positioning based on a customer's needs during the sales process. Solutions Engineers play a significant role in aiding network access integrity through the vetting of net-new discovery conversations ensuring that Surescripts has a robust understanding of the potential customer entity and their proposed use case for given solutions. The incumbent may be asked to support customer project teams integrating with Surescripts' technologies prior to contract execution. This role will inform customer resources on the potential level of effort and best practices for use of Surescripts solutions and answer technical questions in the early stages of a customer's integration efforts during the sales cycle.
Responsibilities
  • Support sales and account management teams as a shared resource that can articulate Surescripts technology and product positioning to business, clinical and technical stakeholders:
    • Lead the development and delivery of technical product/solution positioning in support of sales and account management goals that solve customer needs.
    • Function as a trusted advisor in educating prospective and current customers on network requirements and solutions capabilities.
    • Assist sales and account management in evaluating existing customer use case and solution positioning.
    • Serve as Surescripts technical and product subject matter expert in the early stages of customer integrations prior to contract execution.
  • Conduct initial discovery and vetting of net-new prospect inquiries to validate potential customer types and use case requests to ensure they meet network requirements.
  • Represent Surescripts and our solutions at field events such as industry conferences, seminars, tradeshows and user group conferences across all market segments.
  • Drive the response to RFPs/RFIs in partnership with sales for generally available products.
  • Convey market intel and potential future product needs based on customer/prospect sales conversations to Product Innovation to help fuel future innovation of Surescripts solutions.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in related, progressive roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in vendor sales support/account management/implementation within the healthcare technology industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in health care technology standards and protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex healthcare industry requirements as well as complex use cases for Surescripts solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly understand and simplify industry technology (NCPDP, X12, HL7 FHIR etc).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting life sciences customers such as pharmaceutical manufacturers, including patient access, adherence, or commercialization solutions
  • Experience in B2B/e-commerce or healthcare transaction processing
  • Experience developing and/or implementing healthcare solutions leveraging standards such as NCPDP, X12, HL7, or FHIR
  • Familiarity with life sciences data flows, integrations, or patient support programs
  • Experience using Salesforce

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $150,100 - $183,500 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
