Position Overview


The Director of Solution Engineering leads a team of customer-facing Solution Executives aligned to Account Executives, responsible for developing technically sound, commercially viable solutions for complex electrical equipment projects. This role sits at the intersection of sales, engineering, and operations—ensuring customer requirements are translated into scalable, manufacturable, and competitive offerings.

The Director drives technical sales strategy, standardization, and execution excellence across all opportunities, with a strong focus on responsiveness, accuracy, and customer confidence throughout the pre-sales lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Customer-Facing Engineering Team Manage and develop a team of Solution Executives embedded with Account Executives to support pursuit strategy, customer engagement, and technical solution development.
  • Own Technical Sales Execution Oversee the creation of proposals, system architectures, and preliminary designs for electrical equipment (e.g., switchgear, e-houses, panelboards, power distribution units), ensuring alignment with customer specifications and company capabilities.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment Partner with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to ensure solutions are technically feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with manufacturing and delivery capabilities.
  • Standardize Solutions & Improve Speed Establish tools, templates, and design standards to improve quote turnaround time, consistency, and quality across all market verticals.
  • Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership Act as an executive-level technical advisor for key customers, supporting critical pursuits, resolving complex challenges, and building long-term relationships.
  • Resource & Capacity Planning Align team structure and workload with demand, ensuring appropriate staffing and prioritization to meet business objectives and quote cycle targets.
  • Continuous Improvement Identify process gaps, implement best practices, and leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the solution engineering function.
