Job Description
Power Systems Division is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Mechanical Designer within the Engineering Team to focus on our engine-driven products. This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, manufacturing, customer service and marketing teams to efficiently support our products.
Essential Functions:
  • Solid part modeling, detailing, and creating assemblies using Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Creating/maintaining prints using Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Drafting and design of various machine components
  • Proper use of mechanical detailing standards and procedures including geometric tolerancing
  • Fluent using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Assistance in support of warranty, production, or materials related issues
  • Assistance with documentation related tasks including part creation and BOM changes
  • Updating of electrical drawings using AutoCAD

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a mechanically oriented course for drafting and design
  • Preferred 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting & design
  • Proficient in computer design skills including SolidWorks, PDM Professional, and AutoCAD
  • Sheet metal, plastics, and aluminum casting/extruding drafting/design experience
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently on multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines
  • Ability to select, analyze, and test materials for design based on durability and cost effectiveness
