What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Solids Control professional in the field?

A Solids Control professional usually spends their workdays operating and monitoring equipment such as shale shakers, centrifuges, and mud cleaners to ensure optimal removal of solids from drilling fluids. They routinely inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery to prevent downtime, as well as document and report performance data and any anomalies to supervisors. The role often requires collaboration with drilling and mud engineers to adapt to changing drilling conditions, ensuring environmental compliance and efficient fluid recycling. This hands-on job typically involves a rotation-based schedule and outdoor work at drilling sites.

How much do solid control operators make?

Solid control operators typically earn between $40,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and the complexity of the equipment operated. They often work in oil and gas drilling environments, requiring knowledge of drilling fluids and safety protocols. Salaries can increase with certifications and additional skills.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In solids control and related oilfield services, high-paying roles such as experienced drilling supervisors, project managers, or specialized engineers can earn around $2,000 per day, especially with extensive experience, certifications, and working in remote or demanding environments. These positions often require technical skills, safety training, and the ability to manage complex operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Solids Control position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Solids Control professional, you need a strong understanding of drilling operations, mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of equipment used in separating solids from drilling fluids. Familiarity with centrifuges, shale shakers, desanders, and regulatory compliance, as well as certifications such as HAZWOPER or OSHA safety training, are often required. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and effective troubleshooting abilities help you excel on site. These skills and qualifications are vital to maintaining operational efficiency, complying with safety standards, and minimizing environmental impact in drilling projects.

What jobs pay 10000 a month without a degree?

In solids control, high-paying roles such as experienced field technicians, supervisors, or specialized engineers can earn around $10,000 per month through extensive experience, technical skills, and certifications. These positions often require hands-on work in industrial environments and knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance. Advancement typically depends on skill level and industry knowledge rather than formal degrees.

What is a Solids Control job?
