POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for machining operations using Mastercam and SolidCAM. This position supports production, automation, new product development, and continuous improvement by creating efficient, accurate, and standardized machining programs that ensure quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs for lathes, 3-axis mills, and 5-axis mills using Mastercam and SolidCAM.
  • Create CNC programs for new products, engineering changes, and production improvements.
  • Validate and verify toolpaths using SolidCAM Toolkit simulation or other verification software.
  • Optimize machining strategies, tooling, feeds, speeds, and cycle times to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support machine setup, prove-out, and troubleshooting during program implementation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production to ensure manufacturability and process improvements.
  • Support HAAS Co-Bot integration and other automation initiatives.
  • Maintain organized CNC program libraries and revision control.
  • Standardize and continuously improve programming methods, tooling, and machining processes.
  • Ensure CNC programs comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, CNC Programming, Machining Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience programming CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam and/or SolidCAM required.
  • Experience with 5-axis programming and machining preferred.
  • Experience supporting automation and robotic machining applications is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
  • Physical stamina and dexterity including the ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day, climb, kneel, crawl, sitting, bend at waist or squat 
  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Manufacturing/Machine Shop
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, metal chips, coolants, and varying temperatures while on the shop floor.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required in manufacturing areas.
  • Manufacturing and engineering office environment with periodic exposure to the production floor.
