As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your daily tasks will be dynamic and impactful, including but not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients’ psychological status and needs.
• Developing individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapies and interventions tailored to each client.
• Utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to facilitate client self-awareness and coping skills.
• Providing crisis intervention and stabilization services for clients experiencing acute psychological distress.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure integrated and holistic care.
• Monitoring and documenting client progress in a timely manner, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
• Educating clients and their families about mental health disorders, available therapies, and self-management strategies.
• Assisting in the creation of discharge and aftercare plans that support long-term recovery and wellness objectives.
• Ensuring compliance with all legal, ethical, and facility guidelines pertaining to mental health care delivery.
• Engaging in continuous professional development through training, workshops, and case consultations.

Your client focus will encompass individuals facing a broad spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and chronic illnesses. You will work closely with clients from diverse backgrounds and age groups, employing a sensitive and culturally competent approach to therapy. Your ability to build trusting relationships will play a pivotal role in fostering client engagement and facilitating positive treatment outcomes.

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Possession of an active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in Missouri.
• A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a healthcare or psychiatric setting, demonstrating a solid foundation in clinical practice.
• Proficiency in crisis intervention and case management, showing an ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
• Experience treating clients with mental health disorders, chronic illness, and trauma.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations, ethical guidelines, and Missouri mental health laws.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with a passion for patient advocacy.

While not mandatory, the following experiences are highly desirable:

• Experience in a community health setting, particularly within a telehealth framework.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities beyond CBT and DBT, including psychodynamic therapy or mindfulness-based approaches.
• Knowledge of culturally specific mental health practices and an understanding of how societal factors impact mental health.
