Familiarity with SolarWinds products, SNMP, network protocols, and monitoring tools is essential, with certifications like SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) being highly valued. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for diagnosing issues and coordinating with IT teams. These skills ensure efficient network monitoring, quick resolution of issues, and optimal performance of IT environments.

Job description

At SolarWinds, we're a people-first company. Our purpose is to enrich the lives of the people we serve-including our employees, customers, shareholders, partners, and communities. Join us in our mission to help customers accelerate business transformation with simple, powerful, and secure solutions.
The ideal candidate thrives in an innovative, fast-paced environment and is collaborative, accountable, ready, and empathetic. We're looking for individuals who believe they can accomplish more as a team and create lasting growth for themselves and others. We hire based on attitude, competency, and commitment. Solarians are ready to advance our world-class solutions in a fast-paced environment and accept the challenge to lead with purpose. If you're looking to build your career with an exceptional team, you've come to the right place. Join SolarWinds and grow with us!
We are building our People Analytics platform from scratch on a modern data stack (GCP/BigQuery, CData, dbt). We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the architecture, implementation, and ongoing evolution of our new People Analytics data platform. This is a foundational, "greenfield" role: you will be responsible for defining the blueprint of how we ingest, store, and transform HR data from systems like SuccessFactors and Greenhouse into meaningful insights. You are not just building pipelines; you are architecting a high-performance AI-ready data product that will enable our People team to make data-driven decisions on a scale.
What You Will Do:
• Infrastructure & GCP Architecture: Provision and manage our GCP environment (BigQuery) using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform). You will define the project structure and governance.
• Modern Data Stack Ownership: Own the full pipeline-configure CData to sync HRIS/ATS systems into BigQuery, and use dbt to build a clean, modular transformation layer (Staging, Intermediate, and Marts).
• AI Readiness: Collaborate on the data strategy to ensure that all data is clean, versioned, and documented creating a "feature store" ready for future BigQuery ML predictive modeling.
• Governance & Security: Implement strict IAM policies, data masking, and access controls to ensure sensitive HR/PII data is protected.
• Tableau Enablement: Build performant data marts specifically optimized for Tableau to ensure fast load times for the dashboard team.
Experience
• 5-8+ Years of Experience: Proven professional experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a highly technical Data Analyst role.
• "Greenfield" Build Track Record: You have successfully led or been a core contributor to building a data platform from scratch. You understand how to make architectural trade-offs that favor long-term scalability over "quick fixes."
• Engineering Discipline: 3+ years of hands-on experience with version control (Git/GitHub) and establishing CI/CD pipelines. You treat data transformation as software engineering.
Technical Stack Mastery:
• SQL: Expert-level proficiency; comfortable with complex window functions and performance optimization.
• dbt: Strong, demonstrated experience building and testing dbt projects (Jinja, macros, modular modeling).
• GCP/BigQuery: Hands-on experience managing BigQuery project structure, dataset governance, partitioning/clustering, and IAM/security policies.
Domain Fluency: Ability to translate complex HR business requirements (e.g., Attrition, Headcount, Diversity, Time-to-Fill) into reusable dimensional data models.
Why Join Us?
• Full Architectural Autonomy: You are the "architect" of our data platform. You will make the foundational decisions on schema design, security, and tooling, avoiding the constraints of legacy environments.
• Modern "Gold-Standard" Stack: Work with a premium, future-proof stack (GCP, BigQuery, CData, dbt) that is highly sought after by top-tier data engineers.
• High-Impact Strategic Role: You will be at the intersection of Data and HR, building the platform that helps our leadership understand our most important asset: our people. Your work directly influences how we hire, retain, and develop talent.
• AI/ML Path: We aren't just building dashboards; we are building an AI-ready foundation. You will play a pivotal role in transitioning our platform from descriptive reporting to predictive modeling, setting a high bar for our technical evolution.
• Culture of Excellence: We value clean code, automated testing, and rigorous documentation. You will work in an environment where technical debt is avoided, not accepted.
