Solar installers work with a variety of tools and technologies, and often collaborate with electricians and engineers. Their work helps clients harness renewable energy and reduce electricity costs.

What are some common challenges faced during solar system installation projects, and how are they typically addressed?

Solar system installation professionals often encounter challenges such as unexpected roof conditions, adverse weather, and coordinating with utility companies for grid connection. Job description

Company Overview

We are Sunbum Solar & Roofing an established company proudly serving customers for 21 years. We provide premier, tier-1 solar system installations, handling everything from engineering, structural design, and permitting to seamless solar system installation and utility interconnection. We are looking to expand our footprint by partnering with motivated, high-performing independent Sales Dealers and Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs).ย ย If you are an experienced closer who wants to focus entirely on originations and client relations while a world-class EPC handles the backend operations, engineering, and logistics, this partnership is designed for you.ย ย

Job Description / Partnership Scope

As an Independent Sales Dealer, you will act as a frontline clean energy consultant selling all over Virginia and Maryland. You will manage your own lead generation and pipeline development, utilizing our industry-leading software tools to deliver highly accurate energy savings proposals to commercial and residential property owners.ย ย

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Consultative Selling: Conduct ethical, compliant, and professional sales presentations to property owners.ย ย

โ€ข Project Qualification: Leverage our enterprise solar design platforms to perform detailed shading analyses, calculate structural orientation, and project accurate utility bill offsets.ย ย

โ€ข Onboarding & Document Capture: Collect and submit pristine project files, including customer utility bills, site assessment photos, and standard installation agreements via our portal.ย ย

โ€ข Ethical Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with consumer protection laws, local solicitation guidelines, and DNC registries.ย ย

What We Provide (Operational Support & Tooling)

We remove the friction of the solar fulfillment process so you can focus entirely on maximizing volume:

โ€ข Advanced Tech Stack: Direct access to precision solar design tools for rapid layout modeling and accurate system production reporting.ย ย

โ€ข Instant Financing Integrations: Seamless access to premium third-party solar lenders, such as Palmetto Lightreach and Climate First Bank, featuring rapid consumer credit pre-checks and instantaneous loan and Lease/ PPA document generation.ย ย

โ€ข Elite EPC Execution: We manage the heavy liftingโ€”from remote shading validation and structural engineer stamps to physical construction and final utility PTO coordination.ย ย

Compensation & Milestone Structure

This is a 100% commission-based contract role featuring one of the lowest Redline baseline pricing models and structured payouts. To perfectly align incentives with project milestones, commissions are paid out aggressively across two clear stages:ย ย

โ€ข Milestone 1 (80% of Net Commission): Disbursed upon substantial completion of the physical installation.ย ย

โ€ข Milestone 2 (20% of Net Commission): Disbursed immediately upon the utility issuing the official Permission to Operate (PTO).ย ย

(Note: Standard project installation agreements are subject to cancellation and clawback policies if a site proves structurally or environmentally unfeasible prior to mechanical build.)ย ย

Qualifications & Requirements

โ€ข Experience: Proven track record in residential or commercial solar sales, home improvement closing, or direct independent contract sales.

โ€ข Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with modern CRM pipelines and solar software environments (e.g., Aurora, Solargraf, or similar design platforms) is highly preferred.ย ย

โ€ข Self-Starter Mentality: Operates with high autonomy, exceptional professional ethics, and excellent client communication skills.ย ย

โ€ข Must possess an active independent sales business entity, or operate cleanly as an independent contractor.

Schedule & Location

โ€ข Job Type: Contract / Commission-Onlyย ย

โ€ข Location: Remote / Flexible Territory Assignmentsย ย

โ€ข Schedule: Choose your own hours; unlimited earning potential.
