Sales Manager – Solar & Energy Storage (Player‐Coach)

Role Overview:

We are hiring a hands‐on Sales Manager (Player‐Coach) to build, lead, and scale our sales organization. This role is designed for a high performer with leadership ambition—a proven closer who can sell personally while recruiting, training, motivating, and managing a high‐performance sales team.

This is a career‐defining opportunity for someone who wants to step into senior leadership as the company scales aggressively through 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally close residential and small commercial solar + storage deals
  • Step in as a closer-of-last-resort to help reps get deals across the finish line
  • Lead joint sales calls and in‐home presentations with sales reps
  • Build, document, and optimize the Lumenexx sales process
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and coach sales representatives
  • Run ongoing sales training, role‐plays, and performance reviews
  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and hold the team accountable
  • Keep the team motivated, focused, and performance‐driven
  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and CRM accuracy
  • Coordinate closely with operations for clean handoffs and fast installs
  • Refine pricing, scripts, and financing options

Requirements

  • 3+ years of residential solar sales experience
  • Proven track record as a top producer / closer
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and elevate other sales reps
  • Comfortable taking over difficult deals and closing complex transactions
  • Strong understanding of solar financing (cash, loan, lease/PPA)
  • High accountability, leadership presence, and execution mindset
  • Strong desire to grow into senior leadership

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

  • This is a commission based only position
  • Weekly stipend, draw + personal commissions on self-generated deals and company provided leads
  • Commission overrides on team production (percentage of closed revenue from managed reps)
  • Additional override or commission split for assisted / joint-close deals where Sales Manager steps in to close
  • Aggressive performance incentives tied to monthly and quarterly growth targets
  • Clear path to VP of Sales within 9–12 months based on performance and team scale
  • Opportunity to earn equity / percentage ownership as revenue and team milestones are achieved
  • Front-row seat to help build and lead a rapidly growing solar organization

Benefits:

  • Opportunities for advancement
  • Professional development assistance

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Walnut, CA 91789
