Job description

Summary:

Senior Project Scheduler is a leader and contributor in the organization within the scheduling function on multiple utility-scale solar and BESS projects ranging from $25MM to $300MM. This role requires full lifecycle project experience with a strong emphasis on EPC execution and cross-functional coordination. In addition to applying Critical Path Method and Takt Planning method to projects ensure all functions work in concert, the Sr Planner teaches and coaches less experienced persons within the organization and may also interface with clients, on occasion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate cross functional planning sessions with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to build new schedules from a template.

• Oversee transparent and consistent reporting to project teams, including look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, and KPI dashboards.

• Works at both the individual project level and the portfolio level to drive consistently clear reporting to those in the entire organization.

• Can step into the shoes of any planner on any project and quick discern quality issues, critical items, and potential solutions.

• Conduct schedule risk analysis, critical path reviews, and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Drive standardization of scheduling practices and reporting formats across the EPC portfolio.

• Support project teams with clear visibility into schedule status and performance trends.

• Support process and tool enhancements as we work toward efficient processes from project inception to project closeout, cost and schedule reporting, and creation of resource histograms for Engineering and Construction

• Educate non-schedulers on how CPM scheduling works and how Primavera calculates dates as you’ll be the expert.

• Supports scheduling tool coding and structure in addition to other enterprise level information.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• 7+ years using Primavera P6: driving meetings and live updates, understanding how the tool works including early dates, late dates, constraints, best practices, and baselines

• 5+ years in EPC project scheduling, preferably in solar or renewable energy.

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with expertise in CPM, resource loading, activity code assignment, and reporting with knowledge of Earned Value Methodology.

• Strong understanding of EPC workflows and construction sequencing.

• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (<5%).

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Durham, NC headquarters with some travel to sites and for training (<10%). Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs.
