Job description

Solar AC Technician
Pay Range: $25-$35/hr
Reports To: Solar Project Manager
Travel: Up to 75% (company-paid lodging, transportation, and per diem)

Position Summary
The Solar AC Technician performs electrical AC-side work on solar projects - conduit runs, inverter installs, AC combiner boxes, disconnects, grounding, wiring, terminations, and system wiring per NEC and project plan. Reports to the Solar AC Lead or Foreman.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install conduit, AC combiners, inverters, disconnects, transformers, and associated AC electrical equipment.
  • Pull wiring, make terminations, bond grounding, and ensure compliance with NEC and project specifications.
  • Perform string & circuit verification, torque checks, polarity checks, and basic testing.
  • Maintain daily logs, material tracking, and assist with staging and work coordination.
  • Perform quality checks on AC electrical work daily.
  • Assist with close-out tasks, labeling, and commissioning support as needed.
  • Follow all safety practices and use required PPE, perform site safety housekeeping.

Required / Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years electrical experience (commercial/electrical work preferred)
  • 1-3 years solar or AC-electric installation experience helpful but not mandatory
  • Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs, working on rooftops or elevated platforms, with conduit and wiring work
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, one-lines, and electrical plans

Preferred:
  • OSHA 10
  • Electrical License/ Certification
  • Experience with commercial rooftop/ground-mount solar projects
  • First Aid/ CPR
  • Familiarity with AC Testing Equipment
