The company specializes in solar PV, solar thermal, and renewable energy projects while maintaining a strong commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.


Job Purpose Summary

The Commercial Project Manager position will primarily be coordinating solar PV and solar thermal projects, with possible opportunities to coordinate wind projects. This salaried position is responsible for overall quality, schedule and safety of projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assists sales team with site analysis and transition to delivery stage.
  • Coordinates assigned projects in conjunction with Operations Manager.
  • Visits site to gather technical information necessary for project implementation.
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Monitors the status of permit applications and schedules inspections.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Works with Installation Supervisor to oversee installation team and subcontractors.
  • Directly supervises the electrical installation team.
  • Reviews of deliverables prepared by team before passing on to client.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on the project.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Coordinates and implements safety procedures with Safety Manager.
  • Manages project budget in conjunction with Operations Manager.
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoices in conjunction with Office Manager.
  • Monitors receivable for project with assistance from Logistics Coordinator.
  • Conducts some site visit surveys and sales follow-up work as necessary to move projects to the delivery stage.
  • Maintains communications with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and management for smooth project execution.
  • Schedules and conduct walk-through and system orientation with the customer.
  • Conducts periodic performance reviews of crew members under their direct supervision.
  • Provides project close out documentation to Construction Manager.
  • Submits expense receipts to the Construction Manager in a timely and accurate manner.


Experience:

  • Minimum 2 yrs. related experience.
  • Prior experience with solar PV systems preferred.


Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people, organize tasks, resolve issues, and manage multiple activities.
  • The position requires electrical and mechanical experience, and the ability to interpret the NEC manual.


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to pass at least an annual drug test is required.
  • Some overnight travel will be required.
