Job description

The Project Manager provides value to our customers by overseeing lighting projects from conception through completion, ensuring all project deliverables, including materials, billings, RFIs, change orders, submittals, and closeout documentation—are completed accurately, on time, and within budget. Working closely with the Lighting Supervisor and fellow Project Managers, this role serves as the central point of coordination to deliver exceptional customer experience and successful project outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1.Manage project development from conception to completion.
    2.Understand all projects in-depth, enabling yourself to order materials/equipment, develop billings, complete, and manage RFIs and change orders, as well as prepare/review submittals and closeout documents.
    3.Maintain a working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contracts.
    4.Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues before they become problems.
    5.Create a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed.
    6.Ensure deadlines are met and work is accurate.
    7.Act as a liaison between customers and the appropriate internal customers to keep the process moving forward.
    8.Train team members on Parspec, Job Management, and Solar Eclipse.
    9.Provide status reports for the Sales Manager.
    10.To uphold the Core Values of Gordon Electric Supply.
    11.Remain current on all required training as mandated by Gordon Electric Supply.
    12.Perform other jobs and work-related responsibilities, tasks, and projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONSJob Competencies
  • Comfortable with maintaining or increasing project margins throughout the project.
  • Familiarity with photometric layouts
  • Designbuild experience required.
  • Familiar with the use of BlueBeam software.
  • Expertise with code compliance for lighting and control layouts.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Excel to manipulate data, design spreadsheets, and create graphs.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamoriented, enjoys working with others.
  • Education, Experience, Credentials
  • A bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of project management experience required.
  • Experience with project management software tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Driving to customers and project sites is an essential function of this role. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required, unless you can use an alternative form of transportation that meets the position’s travel needs without added cost or time to the company.
