Description:

Sol-Up is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial & Residential Electrician to join our team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, including solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, across residential and commercial projects.


The position involves working on rooftops, ground-mounted systems, remodeling projects, and new construction environments. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, experience with electrical installations, and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and renewable energy solutions. All work must be performed efficiently and in compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and local electrical codes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in residential and commercial properties
  • Perform electrical work for new construction and remodeling projects, including system upgrades and modifications
  • Collaborate with construction teams to provide accurate electrical construction estimates and support project schedules
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine electrical system layouts
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective, code-compliant solutions.
  • Install and maintain lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, panels, and other electrical devices. Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe work environment at all job sites
  • Participate in field work activities, including utilizing hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment as needed
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, customers, and other trades
  • Perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and service reports
  • Travel to various job sites as required
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and jobsite requirements
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned on a day-to-day basis
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel

License & Certifications

  • Valid Electrician license (Journeyman or higher) preferred but not required
  • OSHA 10 certification (minimum requirement)
  • Scissor Lift and Boom Lift certification (or ability to obtain)

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Solar, EV charger, or energy-efficiency experience
  • Experience working in occupied homes or active commercial environments
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
