POSITION OVERVIEW:
Empower is a full service, residential solar installer looking experienced and driven individuals to join our ever-growing team! Installers will work as part of a team installing all photovoltaic system components and electrical equipment ensuring successful operation of complete photovoltaic system under the direction of a Crew Lead & Roof Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Supports the Roof Lead to successfully complete a quality installation
  • Participate in the roof top installation from layout, racking, assembly of solar modules, installation of all mounting hardware, and electrical equipment.
  • Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.
  • Assist with installation progress photo uploads to Site capture
  • Always maintain a safe and clean job site
  • Follow all safety and OSHA related practices while on job sites
  • Gather and assist in loading all necessary materials needed from the shop to jobsite
  • Ability to read and follow designs that are given for installation
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to provide the perfect experience throughout the installation process
  • Attend team safety meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products as well as learning best practices delivering quality workmanship
  • Additional duties required as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 1-year roofing experience; including metal, concrete tile, clay tile, comp, shingle, or wood shake
  • Ability to work in challenging environments (hot sun, cold, wind, tight spaces, etc.)
  • Capable of standing for long stretches of time and working at heights (on rooftops, climb ladders and stairs)
  • Ability to safely handle tools and materials commonly found in the construction and solar industries, such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
  • Customer service skills
  • Low-voltage electrical wiring.
  • Installation of electrical panels (Main service panels, Load centers, Main disconnects, Electrical meters).
  • AC/DC devices and power inverters.
  • Installation and commissioning of battery systems (Sonnen, Enphase, Duracell, EG-4, Franklin, SolarEdge, Tesla, and others).
  • Installation of EMT, PVC, and Rigid conduit (including bending and anchoring).
  • National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Network cabling.
  • Wiring of energy transfer systems (Transfer switches, Inverters, and BMS).
  • Electrical Journeyman (Preferred).
  • At least two years of experience installing solar panel systems and clean energy backup systems (Preferred).

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work outdoors, as well as in enclosed spaces such as garages and attics.
  • Clean driving and background record
  • Valid Driver's License
  • The ability to travel on a Weekly basis based on project location.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements

COMPENSATION:
The expected pay range for this position is $40,000-$60,000. This range reflects the actual range of earnings of employees in this position. The pay structure for this position is a base hourly rate for Installers; plus, additional piece rate structure per panel installed for completed projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various tools and equipment. Must not fear heights or steep roofs. Comfortable working 10-12hr days. Possess the ability to listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally. The employee will frequently be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
