Job Summary: The Solar Vegetation Technician is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the solar farm to ensure a safe, clean, and permit compliant environment during the peak season. This role involves mowing, trimming, and general landscape maintenance to support the efficient operation of the solar farm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mowing: Operate and maintain mowing equipment to keep grass and vegetation at appropriate heights around solar panels, access roads, and other areas of the solar farm.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on mowing equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Equipment Transportation: Transport equipment via trailer to various part so the facility to perform vegetation management.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Plant Manager.
  • Waste Management: Collect and dispose of debris, litter, and other waste materials from the grounds.
  • Support Operations: Assist with other tasks as needed to support the operations and maintenance team, including fence repairs, and general site upkeep.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in operating mowing equipment. Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
  • Driving: Must have a valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions and driving a mower for extended periods of time. Must be able to receive a DOT Medical ID if needed.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures in an outdoor work environment.
  • Communication: Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and report issues.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

  • This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • The role may require occasional weekend or overtime work depending on the needs of the solar farm.

Contract Details:

  • This is a 1099 contract position.
  • Seasonal employment during peak vegetation growing periods.
  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour.
