Job Summary

The Senior Business Developer will develop and maintain a portfolio of business opportunities including Greenfield development and acquisition of wind, energy storage, and solar power generating facilities in the Northwestern U.S.A. The Senior Developer analyzes and evaluates local business opportunities within existing renewable markets and businesses and develops new market initiatives. Develops proposals, including feasibility studies, investment analysis and financial planning to promote business opportunities. Leads the project portfolio before it is moved to the promotion phase. Plans and executes strategies to meet long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and/or manage site development of wind, solar and energy storage projects including establishment of site control, permitting of project sites, and management of community relations.
  • Support project acquisition efforts including due diligence on potential acquisitions and negotiation of purchase and sale agreements.
  • Be a key point of contact for project stakeholders, including landowners and local county officials.
  • Identify new business opportunities and work with internal technical support teams.
  • Adhere to effective internal controls, including providing project development budgets, schedules, and other updates as required by senior management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a directly related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in energy project development or real estate acquisitions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the Northwest U.S., and to other U.S. sites and locations as directed.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and project management.
  • Proficiency in Windows based business software applications, including Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or directly related field.
  • Experience in wind, solar power and energy storage development.
  • Experience in project management.
