Job description


Title: Solar Maintenance Manager
Duration: FTE - Direct Hire
Location: Fort Stockton, TX
Job Description
This position is responsible for managing the various components of the site maintenance program as they relate to day-to-day and long-term maintenance. Primary objective is to direct work of solar technicians and contractors, manage and administer the maintenance functions at the plant in accordance with Operations and Maintenance Agreement requirements and the Operations and Maintenance Programs.
This overall objective will be achieved by meeting the following objectives: health and safety performance for assigned technicians and contractors, environmental stewardship, supervision of assigned technicians, employee training and development, quality control, work management system, maintenance of generation assets.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages and directs employeesand contractors both at the site and those supporting the project fromother locations to ensure business objectives are achievedand assists in maintenance budget development, oversight, and adherence.
  • Manages the plant maintenanceprogram based on best practices in the PV industry, with an emphasis onplanning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Manage the use of theenterprise asset management system and assures the complete and accurateintegration of the system, at the site. Monitors and manages the use andinventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, tools, andreordering as necessary.
  • Interfaces with the Real-TimeDesk to review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously,minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timelymanner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures completion oftechnicians' documents; outages, onsite equipment problems, log entries,site visitation; safety and environmental inspections.
  • Communicates regularly withmanagement and all site personnel, both individually and as a group, toensure excellent three-way communication concerning operational andmaintenance issues. Produce and speak to site reports and presentations ofplant maintenance status, schedules, and goals.
  • Provide leadership anddirection to all personnel providing maintenance support at the site,including contractors. Supervision of remote site personnel andmaintenance activities may be needed as required by management.
  • Prepares and implementsswitching and clearance orders, while working with Operations Center.
  • Performs additionalresponsibilities as requested or assigned.

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • A two-year technical degreeor equivalent Journeyman certification/qualifications and six to eightyears of relevant experience, preferably two years minimum as a LeadTechnician and / or Project Manager.
  • Ability to troubleshootequipment and system problems; detect and correct faulty instruments andcontrol devices; install special or sensitive instruments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge ofelectrical or mechanical fundamentals (Journeyman skills) such aselectrical measurements, control circuits and solid-state theoryapplication.
  • Leadership abilities,effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently aspart of a team.
  • Position may require workingnon-traditional hours.
  • Demonstrated ability tounderstand and utilize computer systems and applications as tools foranalysis and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Strong project managementskills. The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projectsconcurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective oral and writtencommunication skills.
  • Experience developing andvalidating procedures and processes.
  • Effective analytical,problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Some travel may be involved.
