About the role:

We're looking for a PGD Engineer โ€“ Solar Inverter on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. It is a W-2 position. The Power Generation Division is looking for a PGD Engineer. This engineer will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. You will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes.

Key Responsibilities: CWE/ROCC Process Improvements:
  • Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies
  • Build and maintain fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists
  • Use AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets to synthesize information
  • Be the primary technical liaison between Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, acting independently on technical matters
  • Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general goals, and limitations
  • Work with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization with responsibility to regarding technical matters pertaining to individual projects
Support the responsibilities โ€“ Solar Inverter Team:
  • Support component failure rate analysis and development of work plans
  • Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer
  • Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites
  • Assist field technicians and ROCC operators with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues
  • Help develop countermeasures for recurring issues
  • Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree in other engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Utility-scale inverter and power electronics experience
  • And ability to work with operations teams
Helpful Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering
  • 2 years of experience with solar inverters
  • Previous experience in operations support or control center environments
