Position Summary:
Semper Solaris is looking for an organized and motivated Solar Installer for our Solar Operations department. The Solar Installer will perform a wide variety of operational duties. The ideal candidate will have prior experience residential solar installations. The ideal candidate will be motivated, dedicated, and a team player. In addition, the ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and a genuine care to his/her craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
  • Complete roof installation on various roof types, as well as ground mounts
  • Ensure proper job documentation is completed once the job installation concludes
  • Interact with customers - answer and direct questions as needed
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve plumbing, electrical, environmental, or safety hazards associated with solar thermal installations
  • Read and review blueprints and plan documents
  • Install racking systems and modules
  • Run conduit and wiring on roofs
  • Apply weather seal, such as pipe flashings and sealants, to roof penetrations and structural devices
  • Test operation or functionality of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems
  • Install copper or plastic plumbing using pipes, fittings, pipe cutters, acetylene torches, solder, wire brushes, sand cloths, flux, plastic pipe cleaners, or plastic glue
  • Configure electrical wiring of the solar system (AC and DC)
  • Other tasks and duties as needed

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience utilizing power and hand tools required
  • Previous experience with solar PV installation, roofing, or general construction is required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail a must
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and work under sensitive time restraints
  • Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills

Pay Rate: $16- $24 per hr. DOE
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly, and be comfortable with heights of at least 20 feet and walking on all roof types
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
