Position: Residential Service Electrician
Location: Durham, NC (serving the Raleigh–Durham metro)
Employment Type: Full‑time (30–40 hrs/wk); part‑time considered
Compensation: Competitive local pay — $25–$40 / hour DOE; higher pay, signing bonus, and performance bonuses for licensed electricians.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform residential service calls: troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs for lighting, outlets, breakers, and controls.
  • Install and upgrade electrical services and panels from 100A–400A.
  • Install and commission EV chargers, whole‑home surge protection, battery backup systems, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakers, GFCIs, AFCIs, and service equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers; explain work, recommend upgrades, and upsell value‑adding solutions.
  • Prepare cost estimates and source materials.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, time records, and customer sign‑offs.
  • Maintain and manage truck inventory; ensure tools and parts are stocked and organized.
  • Follow company safety practices and applicable codes on every job.
  • Participate in occasional weekend or on‑call rotations as needed.
Who We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years residential service electrician experience with strong troubleshooting and panel work.
  • Professional, customer‑focused communicator with a problem‑solving mindset.
  • Comfortable recommending and upselling appropriate upgrades (panel upgrades, surge protection, EV readiness).
  • Able to work independently, plan jobs, and manage time efficiently.
  • Valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer/smartphone skills for job tracking and customer communication.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Preferred

  • NC electrical license (Residential, Journeyman, or Master) — strongly preferred and eligible for higher pay and signing bonus.
  • Experience with residential battery systems and solar interconnections.
  • Familiarity with Tesla Wall Connector and common EV charger brands.
  • OSHA or other safety certifications.
