About the Job

The Electrical Helper performs and completes residential and commercial electrical, solar, and lighting installation projects in accordance with company standards. This position supports the Electrical Team Lead by assisting with operations, maintaining quality workmanship, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial electrical systems in accordance with company standards and applicable electrical codes.
  • Assist with solar electrical system and lighting installations.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install EMT, IMC, rigid conduit, and associated raceway systems.
  • Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and conductors.
  • Install electrical equipment including panels, disconnects, transformers, switchgear, breakers, lighting systems, receptacles, switches, and related electrical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, plans, schematics, and specifications.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Complete daily quality control inspections and project progress reports.
  • Assist with preparing and verifying material lists for assigned projects.
  • Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites, tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Support the Electrical Team Lead in maintaining project schedules and productivity.
  • Conduct work within OSHA safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Electrical apprenticeship training or related experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements of the Job

Electrical Helpers are required to perform physically demanding labor, often in varied weather conditions and active construction environments. The role requires strength, endurance, and comfort working around electrical equipment and construction site. Electrical Helpers are required to frequently lift and move tools, conduit, wire, ladders, and electrical equipment, with requirements often stating the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Electrical Helpers are required to work full, active days in indoor and outdoor environments, using abdominal and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods. Electrical Helpers are required to have comfort with working on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and elevated platforms. Electrical Helpers are required to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach. Regularly walking, standing, and maintaining balance on uneven surfaces. Repeating the same movements, such as pulling wire, bending conduit, drilling, lifting, and installing electrical components. Electrical Helpers are required to use hands and fingers to grasp, handle, manipulate, and assemble electrical equipment, tools, and wiring. Ability to see details up close and at a distance, as well as the ability to distinguish between colors for electrical wiring. Working in hot, cold, wind, or rain. Occasional work in attics, basements, utility rooms, and tight crawl spaces. Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) like hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other required safety equipment.
