Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager manages Regional efforts for the sale of assigned products throughout assigned geographic region or customer group to meet planned objectives as to sales volume, market penetration, profitability and selling cost.

The Area Sales Manager will represent and promote Stabilus in a professional and responsible manner. Define and attain budget sales and profit for the industrial division in the assigned region. Learn and know the assigned region in order to manage markets and customers within the region. Manage the activity inside Stabilus to achieve forecast. Manage three channels for sales, OEMs, and Distributors.

The territory for this position includes the West Coast for the United States and extends into Canada.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maximize sales and profit dollars with all accounts
  • Implement Sales and Marketing Programs within the sales territory to ensure attainment of sales and profit goals.
  • Develop new accounts and manage existing accounts and coordinate the Technical and Customer Satisfaction activities to maintain the best interests of both Company and Customer.
  • Contribute to the development of market, product, and pricing strategies. Provide input to customer quote and deviation requests.
  • Remain current with sales support documents and reports.
  • Proactive role with Distributors to satisfy Customer needs.
    • Problem-solve with Customer and Company as required
    • Identify and interpret competitive requirements and actions.
    • Proficiency with contact management programs.
    • Customer presentations
    • Joint sales and training with Distributors
    • Administrative requirements:
      • Daily/Weekly updates to contact management
      • Input to the Quarterly Forecast
      • Key Account Reports
      • Monthly Reports
      • Maintenance of Weekly Itineraries and Expense Reports

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • 4-year Degree required, Business or Technical preferred

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of sales/sales management experience in related industry.
  • Minimum 5 years proven sales experience in related industry.
  • Minimum 4 years middle management and supervisory responsibilities.
