Job description

If you aren't very familiar with the residential energy and home services industry, you may think every Solar Sales role involves knocking on doors, pushing contracts, and trying to pressure homeowners into buying systems they don't fully understand.
You've probably had solar companies knock on your own door attempting to sell services that way.
That's not how Sandbox+ operates.
Sandbox + is one of the fastest growing companies around for several years in a row, flourishing in a way that many in this industry can't. We've won many local, state, and national awards from organizations such as NoCO Style, Bizwest, Nextdoor, Denver Business Journal, Solar Power World, and the International Electrical Contractors Association and were named among Colorado Companies to watch for 2025.
Check out this video on what it's like to work here!
Now back to our Residential Sales Associate...
We have an opening in sales that's a little different from many residential sales positions. Since Sandbox+ focuses heavily on customer experience, referrals, operational quality, and long-term trust, this role is much more relationship-driven than the stereotypical high-pressure solar sales environment many people picture. In fact, solar isn't likely the only thing you will be selling.
Yes, outbound communication, networking, lead follow-up, and community involvement are all part of the role. But we are not a churn-and-burn door knocking company that expects salespeople to spend every day walking neighborhoods pressuring homeowners into signing contracts. Instead, we're looking for someone who can build relationships, communicate clearly, educate customers, represent Sandbox+ professionally, and help homeowners navigate energy solutions such as:
  • Solar
  • Heat pumps
  • HVAC service & installation
  • Battery & charging systems
  • Service and maintenance packages

Pay starts at $36,400/year with a separately provided commission structure paid monthly. And yes, that means a really great relationship-builder who consistently develops trust, manages their pipeline well, and closes quality business can build a substantial income while growing into even larger opportunities within Sandbox+.
For this role, you'd have to have either:
A background in solar, home energy, or construction / roofing related sales
Or
HVAC Sales a Comfort Advisor, home heating, or related industries.
Bonus points for those who have both!
But either way, the successful candidate will have a curiosity for our style and values and a desire to not only be part of what we're building, but to learn how we're building. And the ability to cultivate long-term relationships with homeowners and speak confidently about energy systems, utility savings, incentives, rebates, payback periods, and long-term value.
We are looking for someone who excels in
  • Measured Sales Performance
  • Proposal Development & Pipeline Management
  • Customer & Team Engagement
  • Communication, Followup, and Interpersonal skills

We require
  • Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years)
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 1 year of direct sales experience in home energy, hvac, or a related field
  • Excel, system design, and proposal software experience
  • Bonus points skills for client-facing presentations

This will not be the right opportunity for those who:
  • Have only held high-turnover retail sales, counter sales, or similar positions with no experience building long-term customer relationships.
  • Shy away from outbound communication, networking, and relationship-building
  • Might drop the ball and not follow up with leads, customers, or internal teams
  • Aren't personable, confident, and credible enough to represent Sandbox+ professionally in homes, networking events, and customer conversations
  • Are averse to using CRM, proposal, sales, and customer relationship technology
  • Lack self-directed initiative, drive, and a sense of urgency
  • Struggle to stay organized while managing multiple active deals
  • Allow their ego to get in everyone else's way

A background check will be required for this role.
We estimate this job will be filled by June 15, but we may extend it.
Salary for this role starts at $36,000 base plus a generous commission structure paid out monthly
