We're a fast growing team looking for hard working and talented candidates excited about building a large pipeline of projects across the country.
Job Description
Korsail Energy is seeking a Project Development Associate to join our growing team. This position is for someone with 1-3 years' experience as a utility scale solar or storage developer interested in managing renewable energy projects through all phases of the project development lifecycle.
Qualifications
The Project Development Associate will drive the development of greenfield solar and storage projects from initial land search efforts through to commercial operation. You will have a significant amount of responsibility in this role along with significant room for growth in the company.
Responsibilities include:
  • Identifying market opportunities, performing diligence, and negotiating purchase and lease agreements on potential development parcels
  • Managing local and national permitting on multiple projects in varied jurisdictions across the county
  • Managing a diverse group of consultants, engineers, attorneys, and other project stakeholders
  • Managing project development budgets and milestones to achieve on time and at or under cost
  • Originating and negotiating power purchase agreements
  • Interfacing directly with landowners, investors, and other project stakeholders

Requirements
We are seeking an individual with 1-3 years of utility scale solar project development experience. Candidates should also be detail- oriented, proactive, supportive, and team-oriented.
The chosen applicant will have experience in the following areas:
  • 1+ years of work at a utility scale solar developer, in a solar project management or development role is required
  • Must demonstrate experience with projects connecting to ISOs and PURPA
  • Proven track record of project management, land development and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Understanding of finance and energy markets
  • GIS experience - e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth, etc
  • Experience with land acquisitions
  • Experience with project zoning / permitting
  • Experience with transmission and distribution-level interconnection
  • Experience with energy storage (a plus, not required)
  • High proficiency with project management software, in addition to MS Office suite
  • Must be hard working and comfortable with infrequent travel and extended hours
  • Must be friendly, persuasive, and a diligent person
