Job description

Community Solar Analyst

We are seeking a Community Solar Analyst to support the onboarding and ongoing management of our portfolio of community solar assets, comprising a mix of third-party and internally managed subscriber pools. This position sits within the Asset Management department and works closely with the Community Solar Specialist, Director of Asset Management, VP of Asset Management and Operations, Chief Operations Officer, and third-party community solar aggregators and subscription managers. The role may also support special projects related to research and development, data analysis, policy updates, and team development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Enrollment and Compliance
  • Support internal registration and application efforts to secure program eligibility for pipeline assets
  • Enroll late-stage construction assets in online utility billing, community solar portals, and UCB programs as relevant
  • Establish and maintain relationships with utility and regulatory contacts to ensure compliance across multiple state-level programs and mediate discrepancies with relevant stakeholders
Aggregator and Subscriber Management
  • Engage third-party community solar aggregators to solicit pricing and negotiate project-level scopes of work related to pre-COD customer acquisition and ongoing management and churn services, ensuring alignment with board-approved underwriting criteria
  • Administer all active MSAs and SOWs with third-party aggregators and subscribers
  • Coordinate with third-party subscription managers to ensure timely submission of initial allocation reports and additional documentation required by relevant programs
  • Support management of all CS aggregators to ensure adherence with acquisition timelines and AP budgets across acquisition, management, and churn fees for all third-party managed assets
  • Ensure timely and regular receipt of allocations, churn, invoicing, and collections data across all aggregator platforms
SSI-Managed Assets (UCB)
  • Manage ongoing project-level churn and source replacement subscribers via third-party acquisition channels
  • Manage project-level allocation changes and submit monthly allocation reports to utilities, including host bank management
  • Report monthly UCB invoicing and collections progress
  • Field emails and phone calls from project subscribers
Reporting and Cross-functional Support
  • Support further development and maintenance of the internal community solar database for tracking market, project, and subscriber-level data
  • Coordinate with Accounting to ensure alignment on monthly CS revenue and collections reporting; provide audit support as needed
  • Provide regular feedback to the Pricing and Investment team on market pricing and critical assumptions related to subscriber types, applicable discounts, churn, and more
  • Assist the Director of Asset Management with community solar and general VEM tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • BS or MS with knowledge and interest in the renewable power industry
  • Prior experience managing community solar agreements and/or commodities trading
  • Must possess a current valid driver's license or provide own transportation
  • Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
