 The Opportunity

Working directly with Operations subject-matter experts, you will learn how investment operations processes work, identify opportunities for improvement, and build internal applications, workflow automations, and AI-enabled solutions. Projects may support areas such as trade operations, reconciliations, data-quality checks, exception management, and client reporting.

This is a hands-on applied development role. You will use AI-assisted development tools to move from business requirements to working prototypes and pilot solutions. You will also help test solutions against real operational scenarios, investigate issues, incorporate user feedback, and document your work so it can be understood and maintained by others.

 Role Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations subject-matter experts to understand existing processes, business rules, controls, data, and operational pain points.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and practical solution designs.
  • Build and iterate on internal applications, automations, and AI-enabled workflows, including agent-based solutions where appropriate.
  • Connect solutions to structured data, databases, APIs, documents, and existing business systems where required.
  • Test solutions against business rules, exception scenarios, and user expectations before they are introduced into operational workflows.
  • Support user testing, investigate defects, triage pilot issues, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Document solution logic, dependencies, operating procedures, and support considerations so solutions can be maintained and improved over time.

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program such as computer science, engineering, data science, information systems, business, finance, mathematics, or another relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience building or automating something through coursework, employment, a personal project, or a hackathon.
  • Foundational experience with at least one programming, scripting, data, or application-development technology.
  • Exposure to responsible AI concepts.
  • Able to learn new tools and unfamiliar business concepts quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; can communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interest in investment management, financial services, or business operations.
  • Must be returning to post-secondary school upon completion of the work term.

  • Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, SQL, or another programming or scripting language.
