GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications, integrations, and internal tools that support Murphy USA's business processes.
Work alongside software engineers to contribute to coding, testing, and troubleshooting software and related integrations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance application functionality and improve user experience.
Participate in software testing and debugging to ensure software quality and efficiency.
Support the integration of new features and assist in the automation of workflows and processes.
Develop scripts or tools to streamline processes, improve software performance, and ensure system reliability.
Contribute to the documentation of software solutions and assist in maintaining technical documentation for future use.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing fresh ideas and insights to the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and software development principles.
Beginner to intermediate proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, and REACT.
Familiarity with databases, SQL, and rest APIs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality code.
Ability to explain, comment, and document coding logic within our strong code review culture
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Use of AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, documentation, and code quality.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
Previous internship or project experience in software development is a plus (not required).
Exposure with version control systems, preferably Git, is a plus (not required).
Exposure with JavaScript frameworks like React, AngularJS, and familiarity with Azure Cloud is a plus.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions is a plus.
This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified candidates must be willing to live within a daily commutable distance of Murphy USA's headquarters in El Dorado, AR and be willing to work onsite Monday thru Thursday each week. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Pursuing a degree in business or related area of study at an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
