Position: Manual QA / System Test Specialist

Location: Jacksonville, FL – Hybrid | Local Candidates Only

Contract: 12+ Months Contract

Job Description:

Incumbents will execute the testing efforts for technology-based business solutions in .NET environments. This testing will apply to stand-alone applications, enhancing current applications, or integrating multiple applications. The System Test Specialist is well-versed in developing, documenting, and executing tests to ensure the delivery of a quality business application software product. Position will execute the tasks to test such applications, which are of departmental/application-level scope and lower complexity. The System Test Specialist will translate user requirements into test strategies, plans, scenarios, and cases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Test system application enhancements related to release implementations, new products and/or product enhancements.
  • Creates and executes test cases/scripts, including identification and tracking issues through resolution.
  • Create, execute, and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test data sets, and test scripts to be used in software testing for manual and automated testing.
  • Implement integration and regression tests.
  • Performs regression system testing to ensure that application errors have been corrected and that no other previously working functions have failed as a result of any code modifications and that newly added features have not created problems with previous versions of the software.
  • Coordinates with departmental representatives or analysts in development of departmental testing requirements for applications programs and coordinates completion of change management control processes related to the production and test environment.
  • Incumbent will have frequent interaction with user community and training staff to stay abreast of system processes and procedures.
  • Participates in small and medium group projects under the direction of an assigned Project Manager as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with business to ensure appropriate end-user testing.
  • Document software defects and report defects to software developers.
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
  • Produces testing results reports with summary findings for project stakeholders.
  • Utilize and adhere to Change Management processes, including coordination of control processes related to the test environment.
  • Work with project teams to identify, triage and isolate defects and issues in all environments and retesting.
  • Coordinate required security testing with Information Security Officer and Security Analyst.
  • Test applications according to project time lines, milestones and deadlines.
  • Provides 3rd tier problem resolution assistance for system deficiencies or errors and coordinates the prompt diagnosis and resolution of application system issues that have an impact on the production environment.  
  • Coordinates with the application vendor/development team to resolve problems and incidents.
