Job description

Testing Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically minded Geotechnical Testing Coordinator to lead the quality control and load testing operations for our helical anchor installations. This is a field-office hybrid role essential for ensuring that the retaining walls we build for Florida’s highways and bridges meet strict load-bearing requirements and FDOT standards. The successful candidate will own the entire testing process—from performing field load tests to documenting torque correlation data—while providing critical support to Project Managers in the office.

This role requires an understanding of construction processes, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively track and manage project documentation. The Project Engineer/Assistant will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, and clients. This is a hybrid role requiring regular travel to various project sites throughout Florida, with remaining time spent in the office for reporting and PM support. This position reports to the Project Manager and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

· Load Testing Leadership: Take full charge of all aspects of field load testing to ensure anchors meet specified load weights and safety factors

· Torque Monitoring: Track and record installation torque in real-time, utilizing the torque correlation method ($T = K \times Q$) to verify immediate load capacity.

· Equipment Management: Set up and operate specialized testing hardware, including hydraulic rams, pressure gauges, and dial indicators for deflection measurement.

· Site Inspections: Visit job sites to verify pile tip depth, inclination, and plumbness

· Safety Compliance: Enforce jobsite safety measures specifically during high-pressure testing procedures to prevent injury from component failure.

· Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating project activities from start to finish.

· Support Project Managers with daily project oversight, documentation, and communication.

· Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project requirements are met.

· Help monitor project schedules, deadlines, and deliverables to maintain workflow efficiency.

· Prepare and maintain project logs, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and meeting minutes.

· Track quantities, materials, and production data for reporting and analysis.

· Assist with preparing project documentation for clients, DOT requirements, and internal records.

· Maintain organized digital files using company software systems.

· Visit job sites to collect field data, verify progress, and support engineers or superintendents.

· Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

· Assist with field measurements, layout verification, and coordination with field crews.

· Other responsibilities as assigned to support project and company needs.

· Enforce and ensure proper jobsite safety measures are being utilized.

· Assist in obtaining material quotes and coordinating procurement.

· Help track project expenses, equipment usage, and subcontractor invoices.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost coding of purchase orders and field expenses.

· Utilize construction management software for project updates, documentation, and scheduling.

· Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam,

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (not required).

· 1–3 years of experience in construction or engineering support roles preferred.

· Experience in geotechnical or heavy civil construction is a plus.

· Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications.

· Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong analytical skills for tracking quantities, costs, and production.

· Proactive and motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow within the company.

· Positive attitude, team-focused mindset, and commitment to quality and safety.

· Entrepreneurial ownership mindset – collaborative, self-motivated, and acts in the best interest of the project and team.
