The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Designing, coding, and maintaining automated tests for server-side software components, APIs, services, and integrations.

Developing and enhancing reusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools.

Applying security best practices, including encryption and secure communications, across system design and implementation.

Troubleshooting and optimizing software performance, reliability, and interoperability across hardware and software interfaces.

Identifying, documenting, troubleshooting, and tracking software defects in collaboration with development teams. Providing technical leadership on a cross-functional team and contribute to engineering best practices appropriate for a mid-senior level role.

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

Seven (7) years of software development experience including coding automated tests for server-side or backend software systems in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

Experience testing APIs, services, databases, and distributed software systems. Have a working knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as CIP, OPC-UA, and MQTT.Experience with C/C++ and embedded applications.

Understanding of low-latency, time-critical network communications over Wi-FiAbility to work effectively across a broad technology stack and to coordinate with external development resources.
