Job description

About Us:
RunBuggy is the most technically advanced automotive logistics platform on the market. Period.
Backed by Porsche Ventures and Hearst Ventures, RunBuggy is transforming the way cars move. Our cutting-edge technology is trusted by some of the largest OEMs, captive finance companies, and automotive lenders in the world to streamline vehicle transportation at scale.
RunBuggy's end-to-end platform connects car shippers and haulers in real time - eliminating the friction of traditional load boards and costly custom software. For shippers, RunBuggy integrates directly into existing management systems, reducing transportation costs and accelerating delivery timelines. For transporters, we offer a smarter, more profitable way to find, accept, and manage loads - all from a single app.
Since launching in 2019, RunBuggy has grown to over 190 team members, facilitated the movement of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and attracted tens of thousands of transporters across the U.S.
We're not just building a better logistics platform - we're redefining the future of automotive transportation.
About the Role:
We are looking for an Associate Software Test Engineer - Quality Operations who is organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow into a career in quality engineering. You will work alongside a senior engineer and the Director of QA to maintain test coverage, execute test plans, and keep quality visible across multiple development streams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their QA career - or transitioning into QA from a related technical role - who wants hands-on experience with modern tools, real systems, and a team that will invest in their growth. You will use AI-assisted tooling as part of your daily workflow, and you will receive mentorship on how to apply it effectively.
This is a hybrid role based in Tempe, AZ.
Requirements
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Execute manual and automated test runs against web and API interfaces, documenting results clearly
  • Create and maintain test cases in TestRail based on feature requirements, API contracts, and observed behavior
  • Track QA status for assigned features - what is tested, what is blocked, what needs attention
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and communicate testing status to developers and product managers
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and flag them proactively
  • Assist with maintaining and running existing automated test suites (Robot Framework)
  • Use AI-assisted tools to help write test cases, research system behavior, and document findings - you will learn to verify and refine AI output as a core skill
  • Grow your technical skills through structured mentorship and hands-on exposure to API testing, automation, and distributed systems
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team by Way of Skills and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of software testing experience, internship experience, or a related technical background (help desk, technical support, IT, or bootcamp/degree with a testing focus).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar preferred.
  • Basic comfort with a computer terminal - you don't need to be a Linux expert, but you should be willing to learn command-line basics.
  • Familiarity with what a REST API is - you may not have deep experience testing them yet, but you understand the concept of requests, responses, and status codes.
  • Strong written communication - your bug reports, test notes, and status updates should be clear to someone who wasn't in the room.
  • Organized and self-directed - you manage your own task list and follow through without needing to be reminded.
  • Experience with a test management tool (TestRail, Jira, Zephyr, or similar).
  • Any scripting exposure (Python, JavaScript, Bash) - even basic scripts or tutorials count.
  • Experience with Postman, curl, or any API testing tool.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum workflows.

What Matters Most:
  • You are curious and want to learn. This role will stretch you technically, and we are looking for someone who sees that as a feature, not a risk.
  • You are reliable. You show up, you follow through, and you ask for help when you need it.
  • You take notes. You document what you find. You make your work visible.
  • You are comfortable saying "I don't know yet" and then going to find out.

What is in it for You and Why you Should Apply:
  • Market-competitive pay based on education, experience, and location.
  • Highly competitive medical, dental, vision, Life w/ AD&D, Short-Term Disability insurance, Long-Term Disability insurance, pet insurance, identity theft protection, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Employee wellness program.
  • Employee rewards, discounts, and recognition programs.
  • Generous company-paid holidays (12 per year), vacation, and sick time.
  • Paid paternity/maternity leave.
  • Monthly connectivity/home office stipend if working from home 5 days a week.
  • A supportive and positive space for you to grow and expand your career.
