Job description

Infomatics is partnered with large defense & IT services provider that is looking to hire a Software QA Manager near Salt Lake City, UT on a direct hire/full time basis.  All applicants must be US Citizens.  Relocation assistance is available for the ideal candidate.
 
Responsibilities
  • Directly leads a team of six Software Quality Engineers that plan, coordinate, and manages the Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQA) activities associated with one or multiple New Product Development (NPD) projects as part of a cross functional integrated program team to ensure compliance to customer contractual and regulatory requirements, as well as conformance to AS9115 and CMMI industry standard requirements.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to the team managing workloads and schedules
  • Owns the management and delivery of Quality Work Package deliverables including Software Quality Assurance Planning (SQAP) and QA leadership, supporting contract Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) deliverables for both new and existing products for the end-to-end product lifecycle as an active QA representative on Project and Program teams
  • Ensures timely completion of QA deliverables that meet the company standards for Quality and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure zero product quality escapes
  • Owns the technical problem solving for issues that may arise that negatively impact software product Quality throughout the end-to-end product lifecycle providing project and program teams with clear, consistent, and timely feedback as it relates to contractual and/or regulatory exposure providing innovative solutions to effectively resolve issues in a timely manner.  Conducts extensive investigation to understand root cause(s) of issues.
  • Serves as the primary interface to customers, including DCMA, for all Program / Project / Product related Quality matters within scope of responsibility for Software Quality
  • Provides Quality Assurance Leadership working in partnership with the Program Management, Engineering Design & Development offices, and Customers in efficient, effective, and rapid development of new Software products
  • Assure that all applicable elements, software quality standards, and process quality standards are effectively incorporated into new designs and into changes to designs
  • Provide oversight for definition of Critical to Quality (CtQ parameters) and acceptance criteria and disposition of identified software defects, as applicable
  • Performs audits and assessments of the projects and reporting of the audits and assessments to the Project Teams and Program Managers
  • Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices making significant improvements in existing processes and systems that drive improvement in software products, as applicable.  May develop new concepts or standards.
 
Background & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science Engineering from an ABET accredited University.
  • 9+ years of work experience in Software Quality Assurance developing test methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance, as required
  • Ability and willingness to travel when required to support all other sites.
  • Leadership skills in leading a team of Software Quality Engineers
  • Broad knowledge of and experience with Project Management
  • Working knowledge of Software Configuration Management
  • Practical experience with Operational Risk Management throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Excellent critical thinking (inductive, deductive, and quantitative reasoning) and Technical Structured Problem Solving skills and experience, including data analysis and validations.
