Job description


BigFoot Staffing is partnering with a long-standing industrial equipment manufacturer to hire a Quality Assurance Manager.


This role is responsible for leading quality management across manufacturing operations, with a focus on industrial air compressors and related components. The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee QA/QC processes, support quality standards across production, engineering, and supply chain, and lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.


This position provides leadership over both the Washington production facility and the Corporate Quality team in SW Portland Metro, requiring periodic travel between locations to maintain consistency, alignment, and strong quality practices across the organization.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and support the QA/QC team in the development, implementation, and execution of the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Maintain and enforce internal build standards, industry best practices, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Production, and Supply Chain teams to support quality throughout design, purchasing, storage, production, inspection, and testing.
  • Develop and improve quality policies, procedures, inspection requirements, testing standards, and documentation.
  • Lead root-cause analysis efforts and drive containment, corrective, and preventative actions.
  • Review NCRs, warranty trends, inspection records, rework documentation, and customer feedback to identify quality risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and report quality KPIs to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Lead audits and continuous improvement efforts focused on product quality, process consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Support supplier quality expectations, evaluations, performance monitoring, and supply chain risk reduction.
  • Foster a collaborative, data-driven, and results-oriented quality culture.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Communicate quality standards and expectations to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Address quality-related questions and concerns from staff and customers.
  • Develop project-specific QA/QC plans when required.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and review performance for QA/QC team members.
  • Travel periodically between company locations to support team alignment and quality consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of quality assurance / quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis methods and CAPA implementation.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at varying skill and knowledge levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities as needed.


Preferred Experience:

  • ISO compliance, certification, or implementation experience.
  • Quality Management System implementation experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma manufacturing experience or certification.
  • Familiarity with compressed air systems, vacuum systems, or diesel-driven equipment.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, CSA, or UL requirements.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or PLC troubleshooting experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. unaided.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to move safely through office and production environments.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, reach, and kneel while performing inspections.
