Job Description
Kavaliro is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to take on the role of Project Management (PM) Team Lead for our local Jacksonville client. This position plays a key part in guiding the PM organization, ensuring high performance, and delivering complex new product development projects on schedule and within budget. Reporting directly to the VP, the PM Team Lead acts as the central link between leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams-driving project excellence, mentoring PMs, and maintaining strong client and technical alignment.
What You'll Do
1. Lead & Develop the PM Team
  • Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and direction to Project Managers, ensuring consistent use of the client's project management standards and best practices.
  • Foster collaboration and standardization across the team, introducing process improvements to strengthen delivery performance.
  • Champion new product development methodologies in partnership with engineering leadership, helping to embed best practices throughout the organization.

2. Oversee Project Delivery
  • Ensure all PM activities stay aligned with contractual goals, schedule milestones, and quality expectations.
  • Review project progress, quality, and deliverables regularly to confirm alignment with client and technical requirements.
  • Serve as the main escalation point for customers, maintaining open communication and proactive relationship management.
  • Identify potential project risks early, implement mitigation plans, and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Support PMs in closely monitoring budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to maintain strong financial control.

3. Drive Process Improvement & Business Impact
  • Uphold consistent and accurate documentation across all projects.
  • Encourage a culture of learning by sharing lessons from past projects and integrating improvements into future work.
  • Partner with the VP to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks across teams.
  • Support business development efforts and technical sales discussions by helping shape project proposals that align with client needs and company goals.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading new product development projects.
  • Proven success managing integrated hardware and software projects in iterative or agile environments.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams (5-20+ members).
  • Ability to excel under pressure and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Background in the railway industry.
