What We're Looking For:

You will be on the front line of emerging Machine Vision and RFID technology. Our Hardware Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional product teams of Electronics, Mechanical, and Software Engineering, Product Test and, Operations, etc. You will own the product development from initial concept to deployment.
A Technical Program Manager meets complex program goals for product performance, quality goals, regulatory compliance requirements, cost, schedule and development budget. Also responsible for working with Product Management, Marketing, and Experience Designers to define the product, solidify the business case, and author the product and experience specifications. Given our multitude of design and development partners, participates with negotiations involving Business Development and Legal.
Location ***Role requires to be onsite in Mississauga, Ontario
(Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recognized team leader of cross-functional, globally distributed, innovative teams in numerous locations and time zones

  • Ability to translate customer problems into solution requirements.

  • Execute multiple projects simultaneously or a large program, utilizing modern project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.

  • Organizes and presents business, technical and program status to Senior Leadership using digital media, dashboards and JIRA project management tools.

  • Engage in strategic partnerships with technology companies that are developing solution elements that add value to your business.

  • Independently engagesadditional resources as needed to address obstacles ordelaystaking into consideration scope, schedule and budget, adjusting the project with minimal impact to the business.

  • Drive execution of solutions inclusive of concept definition, requirements validation, architecture specification, and governance compliance to our Product Development Lifecycle Management framework.

  • Align development engineers, including electrical (EE), mechanical (ME), regulatory and manufacturing operations team members to a common goal.

  • Collaborate with Agile product owners (PO), scrum master (SM) or a release train engineer (RTE)to align the hardware and software product elements.

  • Leads system creation, integration planning, release management, and planning for demonstrations, proof of concepts and pilots.

  • Leads creating cross-functional workstreams and driving execution for sales enablement, development and deployment.

  • Independently building relationships and working across all relevant areas of the solution business including Sales, Services, IT, Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support.

  • Works independently with the business in defining proof of value and customer's return on investment.

  • Independently execute to program plan and budgets for multiple, large projects. Recommend corrective actions and implement changes. Identify and mitigate risks; develop and implement risk mitigation plans.

  • Motivate a project team to ensure solutions are reliable and of quality, in a highly collaborative fashion

  • Personally anticipates and addresses obstacles or issues that are significant in severity and escalates complex issues to management for assistance.

  • Limited supervision by management is expected in this position for complex or novel problems.May coach level 1 or level 2 Program Managers.

  • Supports early stage go to market activities and transition to marketing.

  • Develop and protect intellectual property; be well versed with IPfundamentals.

  • Explore the competitive landscape in both product and business terms.

  • Leverage emerging AI tools to improve efficiency of product development processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: BS Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a Computer Science degree, orrelated technical BS degree, MS preferred

  • Minimum Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in product development

  • Experience in Engineering/Program management or ScrumMasterexperiencefor products in fast paced environment

  • Experience working independently and as part of a teamto solve difficult technical, quality, cost, andschedulechallenges;well versed in risk management practices

Pay Range:

$101,040.00 - $151,040.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 12% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
