YOUR MISSION

 

As a Software Development Manager, you will drive the performance of one of Nulogy’s product teams.  Managers are accountable for team delivery as well as the growth and performance of developers on one or more cross-functional Agile teams.  Managers at Nulogy are versatile, delivering alongside their developers on a team and at other times focused on improvement initiatives.  They will work closely with their Product Management counterparts, helping to plan upcoming work and ensure projects are resourced efficiently.  Managers will conduct frequent 1-1’s with their reports and perform bi-annual reviews as part of Nulogy’s performance management process.  Managers are responsible for staffing their own teams and deeply involved in the hiring process.

 ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct frequent 1-1’s with your team members.  Create long term growth plans.
  • Conduct Nulogy's Performance Management program
  • Work with Product Management on roadmap planning and resourcing.
  • Align team on company and departmental goals.
  • Staff your team with amazing developers 
  • Identify and grow next generation of leadership
  • Replace fear, uncertainty and doubt in your team members with motivation.
  • Report on Monthly Kanban metrics
  • Participate in team Agile rituals such as Stand-up, Planning, and Retrospective meetings.
  • Participate in team on-call rotation.
  • Perform and provide meaningful feedback in code reviews.
  • Become an expert in Nulogys’ business domains.
 EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficient in Ruby or similar object-oriented programming language
  • Proficient in relational databases and SQL
  • Proficient in web languages HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Proficient in TDD and test automation
  • Proficient in software design principles and practices
  • Proficient in DevOps and infrastructure automation
  • Knowledgeable in Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum
  • Excellent communication skills
  • +3 years experience managing developers
  • +7 years Software Development experience
  • BSc or related degree, College Diploma in Computer Programming or related field, code boot camp or equivalent work experience
