The Software Engineering Manager will perform as technical leader and software test manager within the THAAD Ground Systems Development Organization (GSDO). This position reports to the GSDO Software Senior Manager and will serve as functional manager for 10-20 software engineers.
Primary responsibilities are to lead the GSDO software build integration and software test teams, providing technical leadership to junior staff to (1) develop schedules and management tools to plan software build integration and test activities, (2) develop the approach for verifying allocated software requirements, (3) develop test plans and procedures to supply the objective evidence needed for requirements verification, (4) utilize test beds to integrate software builds, develop test procedures and execute testing, (5) perform post-test analysis and document results, (6) develop software tools for automating analysis of test data for requirements compliance, (7) verify software support tools are adequate and under configuration control, (8) verify test beds (software and hardware) are certified for test and under configuration control, (9) review lessons learned and best practices from other software programs for application to THAAD Ground Systems, (10) prepare for and lead test readiness review meetings prior to qualification testing, (11) support preparation and review of Software Test Reports documenting results of testing, and (12) lead the implementation of 1LMX and digital transformation initiatives. In the execution of these responsibilities the candidate is to adhere to company command media and customer contract requirements.
The nature of the work requires the candidate be organized and detailed oriented. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently while in a team environment, and to interface with software developers, software test engineers, system engineers, program management, quality assurance engineers, and customer representatives. This position also requires performing functional management responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, career development, and oversight of training.
