What is a Software Entry position?

A Software Entry position typically refers to an entry-level role in the software industry for candidates who are new to the field or have limited professional experience. It is a great starting point for recent graduates or those transitioning into tech, offering opportunities to learn practical skills and gain experience in software development environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Software Entry professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Software Entry professional, you need strong attention to detail, basic computer literacy, and an understanding of data entry best practices, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, data management systems, and sometimes specialized data entry platforms is typically required. Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to work accurately under deadlines are standout soft skills in this role. Software Entry positions are typically for individuals starting their careers with basic coding skills and limited experience, focusing on supervised tasks. Software Developers usually have more experience and are responsible for designing and implementing software solutions. The roles differ mainly in experience level, responsibilities, and required credentials, but both are essential in the software industry.

What are some common challenges faced by entry-level software professionals, and how can they overcome them?

Entry-level software professionals often encounter challenges such as adapting to new codebases, understanding team workflows, and balancing learning with productivity. It's common to feel overwhelmed by unfamiliar technologies or complex projects. To overcome these challenges, new hires should actively seek mentorship, participate in code reviews, and ask clarifying questions. Embracing collaboration and regularly communicating with team members helps build both technical skills and confidence, making the transition into the software industry smoother and more rewarding.

Job description

Pharmacy Technician II

  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience required.
  • Starting pay: $20/hour.
  • About 1 mile from Sugarloaf Mills, off I-85 between Duluth and Lawrenceville.
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm.
  • Strong benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k).

Who We Are

Good Pill is reimagining what a pharmacy can be for families across Georgia. By pairing transparent, affordable pricing with surplus medicine that would otherwise be wasted, we help people get the prescriptions they need without the financial stress, and we're improving health for millions in the process.

The Opportunity

As a Pharmacy Technician II, you'll play a central role on a fast-growing, mission-driven team working to remove barriers to health for Georgia families. You'll fill prescriptions with precision, keep incoming medication orders moving, and help lead our inventory operation.

What you'll do

  • Fill prescriptions accurately, repackaging donated unit-dose medication into patient vials.
  • Keep inventory in top shape: remove expired products, log new items in our software, and reorder essentials like vials and envelopes.
  • Handle incoming medication orders with precision, choosing the correct drug from our extensive donated inventory.
  • Support a range of administrative and operational tasks as needed.

What makes you a great fit

  • You bring 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience, with a bonus for high-energy retail settings.
  • You share our drive to reinvent pharmacy in Georgia and to use technology to build scalable solutions that put families' health first.
  • You're technology proficient, comfortable across pharmacy software, customer management platforms, and GSuite, and quick to troubleshoot.
  • You thrive on a startup team and constantly look for ways to sharpen processes and boost efficiency.
  • You're reliable and consistent in a full-time, 40-hour role (Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6pm).

What We Offer

  • Health coverage: we cover 100% of your medical, dental, and vision premiums, starting the 1st of the month after you join.
  • Paid time off: 6+ weeks total, including 2+ weeks of company holidays, 2 weeks of vacation, and 2 weeks of sick leave.
  • Future planning: a 4% 401(k) match, with traditional and Roth options.
  • Growth: a professional development stipend to learn new skills or explore other areas of the organization.

Candidates without the following will NOT be considered:

  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • A Georgia Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
  • Experience in all tasks related to filling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, from software entry to product selection to repackaging to appropriate packaging
  • Passed background check

Physical requirements: Able to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use light/fine grasping. Able to frequently sit and stand, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, write by hand, lift, carry, push, stack, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
