CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team in Keene, NH. In In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in planning, designing, and delivering forward-looking solutions for highway initiatives. This is your chance to contribute to meaningful infrastructure improvements, solve challenging mobility and constructability constraints, and help advance modern transportation engineering solutions.

  • Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports f various highway projects including roadway modeling, roundabouts, and signal design
  • Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff or technical leadership
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard procedures and best practices for safety and infrastructure resilience
  • Monitor project progress and performance, acting quickly to resolve operational issues and minimize delays in critical transportation projects
  • Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including field assignments

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
  • NHDOT experience preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
