Job description

Squarespace Payments is dedicated to simplifying the financial side of commerce, enabling merchants to securely and reliably collect payments from their customers with minimal effort. Our team's mission is to build and maintain systems that allow merchants to focus on what matters most: growing their brand!

As Engineering Manager for the Payments team, you will lead a talented group of engineers in building and scaling the infrastructure that powers Squarespace's payment ecosystem. You will be responsible for driving delivery against key company and department goals, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, and providing the technical leadership needed to push critical initiatives forward. Partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Design, and Operations, you will set the technical direction for your team while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on Squarespace's revenue growth and the experience of merchants around the world.

You will report directly to the Engineering Director for the Financial Solutions Group. This position is a hybrid role  located in our New York office.

You'll Get To...
  • Lead the engineering team that builds payments products.
  • Work with experienced Product Manager and Design to create product strategies that impact hundreds of thousands of businesses and their customers.
  • Work with world class managers and directors to shape the organization, processes and culture of our commerce platform.
  • Mentor engineers to develop their skill and expertise in the world of software development and payments products.
Who We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in the software industry
  • 3+ years of experience launching payments products
  • Experience developing and launching FinTech products and infrastructures.
  • Experience coaching engineers with diverse specialties.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to keep products compliant
  • Experience scaling up teams and organizations
  • Experience working with Adyen and Stripe platform is a huge plus

Cash Compensation Range: $185,500 - $299,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
